The chart is rendered with columns belonging to multiple categories of data, with respect to a single quantity, stacked on top of each other. An icon legend is rendered at the bottom of the chart to map data plots to their corresponding data categories; the icons can be clicked to show/hide data plots. This chart can be used to compare data like the number of live visitors on two websites, updated after regular intervals of time.
Best Practices for Real-Time Stacked Column Chart :
- Ensure that the data in one frame is enough so that it doesn't affect readability.
- Ensure that the interval between subsequent refreshes is chosen appropriately, based on what data the chart is showcasing.
- Use contrasting colors for data sets for greater clarity.
- Make the chart scale large enough to view group sizes in relation to one another.
