Scatter with zooming support Part of FusionCharts XT
The zoom scatter chart is an extension of the standard scatter chart with the zooming and panning features. This chart is used to show the relationship between two variables by plotting them using cartesian coordinates. Owing to its zooming capability, the chart can easily display millions of data points. It displays a variable on each axis, marking the intersection of their values on the chart. When there are two numeric parameters, this chart type is the ideal one to determine how one variable impacts the other. For instance, this chart can be used to plot the relationship between income and expenditure or temperature and sales. An icon legend is rendered at the bottom of the chart to map data plots to their corresponding data categories; the icons can be clicked to show/hide data plots.
Best Practices : Scatter With Zooming Support:
- Start the y-axis value at 0 to avoid data values from being rendered as truncated.
- Use trend lines to show correlation.
- Use color coding to accommodate multiple variables in a single chart.
