Real-time Area chart Part of FusionWidgets XT
A real-time area chart is used to show the magnitude of a trend in real-timedata is updated automatically at fixed intervals by getting new data from the server, without any page refreshes. Data values are plotted as data points that are connected using line segments. The area between the line segments and the axes/edges of other charts in the stack is filled with color, which is used to showcase the magnitude. The chart can be used to study data like the number of live visitors on a website, to be updated every 5 seconds. Use a real-time area chart when a simple part-to-whole study of trends, rather than actual values, is needed.
Best Practices for Real-Time Area Charts
- Ensure that the data in one frame is enough so that it doesn't affect readability.
- Ensure that the interval between subsequent refreshes is chosen appropriately, based on what data the chart is showcasing.
