Simple waterfall Part of PowerCharts XT

A waterfall chart is used to show the increase and decrease in an initial value due to a series of intermediate values, thus leading to a final value. The chart is visualized as a series of rectangular columns as the data plots. The length of the data plots and the plot color is determined based on the data value. The beginning and ending bars are rendered in one color, the increases in another color, and the decreases in a third color. Additionally, cumulative (a column that shows the sum of all columns to its left) and non-cumulative (a column that shows the sum of all columns to its left, after the last cumulative column) sum columns can also be rendered. This chart can be used to show the product-wise sales analysis; the final, total value is the result of the increase/decrease in individual product sales.

Best Practices for Waterfall Charts :

• The waterfall chart does not come with a consistent baseline for all data plots. This makes it important to label the plots correctly to aid in correct interpretation.
• Use contrasting colors to highlight differences in data sets. Choose warm colors to indicate increases and cool colors to indicate decreases.
